Dark Brahma

Appearance: Dark Brahmas have a bold, attractive look with deep black feathers that are subtly laced with silver or white. They have large, muscular bodies with feathered legs and feet, giving them a unique and elegant appearance. Their comb is single, and they have red wattles and ear lobes.
Size: Dark Brahmas are a large breed, with hens typically weighing around 8-9 lbs and roosters reaching 10-12 lbs. Their size, combined with their feathered legs, makes them one of the most impressive breeds in any flock.
Egg Production: Dark Brahmas are moderate layers, producing around 150-200 large brown eggs per year. While they may not be the highest producers, they are known for laying consistently, even through the winter months.
Temperament: Dark Brahmas are calm, friendly, and docile chickens, making them easy to handle and a great choice for families. They tend to be very laid-back and tolerate confinement well, although they also enjoy free-ranging. Their gentle nature makes them a favorite for both beginner and experienced chicken keepers.

PICKUP POLICY
Orders for local pickup will be available on the Saturday you select. While we strive to fulfill your requested pickup date, please note that we cannot guarantee the order will be ready at that time.
Once your order is scheduled, you will receive an email confirmation. Additionally, the Friday before your scheduled pickup, you will receive a confirmation email detailing your order, including confirmation that all chicks hatched as expected and any additional pickup information.
Orders must be picked up during the week they are scheduled. Any orders not picked up by the scheduled date will be considered abandoned and will not be rescheduled. Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds on abandoned orders.
This policy also applies to orders with shortages (where not all breeds hatched as expected). In such cases, any remaining chicks on the order must still be picked up as scheduled. You will have the option to replace any shortages with other chicks that are in stock at the time.
There is no guarantee of mortality or morbidity once poultry leaves our store. Be sure to check your box of chicks before you leave.
