Buff Brahma
The Buff Brahma is a large, friendly chicken breed known for its gentle nature and striking appearance. A variation of the Brahma breed, the Buff Brahma features soft, golden-buff feathers with a fluffy, feathered leg appearance, giving it an almost regal look.
Key Features:
Appearance: Buff Brahmas have a deep, soft golden-buff plumage with contrasting darker feathers around the neck and tail. They have large, broad bodies with thick feathers that give them a somewhat bulky, majestic look. Their legs are heavily feathered, and they have a single red comb and bright red wattles.
Size: They are a large breed, with hens weighing around 8-9 lbs and roosters reaching up to 10-12 lbs. Their size, combined with their feathered legs and feet, makes them stand out in any flock.
Egg Production: Buff Brahmas are moderate layers, producing around 150-200 large brown eggs per year. They are not the highest producers, but their reliability and consistent laying through winter make them a valuable addition to any flock.
Temperament: Known for their calm, friendly, and docile temperament, Buff Brahmas are easy to handle and get along well with other chickens. They are also very tolerant of cold weather, making them ideal for backyard flocks in colder climates. They are not very active or flighty, preferring a relaxed, peaceful environment.
Hardiness: The Buff Brahma is highly hardy, especially in colder climates. Their dense feathering and large body help protect them from the cold, and they generally handle heat well too, though they prefer cooler temperatures.

PICKUP POLICY
Orders for local pickup will be available on the Saturday you select. While we strive to fulfill your requested pickup date, please note that we cannot guarantee the order will be ready at that time.
Once your order is scheduled, you will receive an email confirmation. Additionally, the Friday before your scheduled pickup, you will receive a confirmation email detailing your order, including confirmation that all chicks hatched as expected and any additional pickup information.
Orders must be picked up during the week they are scheduled. Any orders not picked up by the scheduled date will be considered abandoned and will not be rescheduled. Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds on abandoned orders.
This policy also applies to orders with shortages (where not all breeds hatched as expected). In such cases, any remaining chicks on the order must still be picked up as scheduled. You will have the option to replace any shortages with other chicks that are in stock at the time.
There is no guarantee of mortality or morbidity once poultry leaves our store. Be sure to check your box of chicks before you leave.
